Conducts seminars, training classes and exhibitions that are beneficial to member units.

KSSIA Malappuram District is one of the fourteen member units of Kerala State Small Industries Association that strives for the welfare of member units coming under the category of micro and small industrial units. This organization of micro and small industries was registered in 1961 under the Travancore Cochin Literary Scientific & Charitable Societies Registration Act 1955. This is the only representative Association of Micro and Small Enterprises in Kerala.

The Association is a promotional organization of small scale industrialists. This organization is recognized by the Union and State Governments. The President and other Office Bearers of the Association having areas of experience are nominated to several statutory and advisory boards and committees constituted by the Union and State Governments, at the National, State and District level. Election is conducted once in two years to elect the District Committee and the General Council Members.

Promotional activities like training classes, Seminars, Exhibitions, Trade Fairs etc. are being conducted by the Association very frequently. Besides the Association disseminates vital information to the Micro and Small Enterprises  atthe grass root level and inculcate in them the necessity of rapid industrialization of the district.

Sources of income of the Association are by receiving membership subscription, contribution and donations from members and prominent industrialists.

KSSIA Malappuram District Unit was formed in ………………….. and founded its office named ‘VyavasayaBhavan’ at Industrial Estate, Manjeri in ………………….. The executive committee members have constant interaction with authorities and association members to sort out and solve the problems faced by the industrial units in the district.

The Association  has introduced  scheme under the name of KSSIA Social  Welfare Security Scheme, which intends  to undertakes a Social Welfare Scheme for Micro and Small enterprises of Kerala.  The membership fee is Rs.15,500/-. Benefits Payable to its members under different circumstances are  as follows.

    Upon the death of member his / her nominee will receive upto Rs.10,00,000/- within one month  subject to the condition stipulated in the Bylaw.

   In case of a member becoming critically ill a maximum of Rs. 2,00,000/- towards the  hospital expenses bill whichever is less will be paid subject to the condition stipulated in the Bylaw.

VOICE is the journal of KSSIA, Malappuram District. It has resumed publication as a monthly from September 2006. Besides being the mouthpiece of the District Association, VOICE attempts to apprise SSIs about the latest rules, regulations, orders and instructions pertaining to them and also tries to instill confidence and enthusiasm in budding entrepreneurs by publishing interviews and articles on inspiring experiences of successful industrialists.VOICE is a none-profit making venture and depends on advertisements only for its revenue. However, due to limitations of space and to avoid over-exposure to advertisements, only quarter page advertisements are accepted at present .
